Who has joined the squad?
FunPlus Phoenix Complete Roster with New Mid Laner
FunPlus Phoenix have lost their roster this off-season. No more DoinB, no more Crisp or Tian. The only remaining member of the 2019 World Championship squad remains their bot laner LWX.
But who has replaced the squad? Who is going to be the replacement for a charismatic leader like DoinB in the mid lane – and who will now spoil us with roster rumors? Okay, DoinB isn’t dead, he joined LNG, but seriously, who is his replacement?
FunPlus Phoenix Have a New Mid Laner
There is no shortage of talent when it comes to the mid lane and Korea, so of course, one of the most famous and well-known orgs from China, will look to their neighbors to find a great player.
There have been multiple Korean players that have found their place in China, Rookie, DoinB and Scout to name a few, so who is going to be playing on FPX next year? None other than Kim “Gori” Tae-Woo!
Who is Gori?
Gori started out on SKT T1 back in 2018 as their substitute mid laner. He got to watch and learn how to play by the man, the myth and the legend himself – Faker. Then, ahead of the 2021 season he left the team and made the move to China where he became the substitute mid laner for Scout – also one of Fakers prodigies.
Ahead of the 2021 LCK Summer Split, Gori decided to make the move back to Korea and he joined Nongshim RedForce as their starting mid laner where he showed insane skill and prowess on his champions. He helped carry Nongshim into the regional gauntlet where the team missed their chance at the 2021 World Championship by a sliver.
Gori is an insanely skilled player. He’s already spent a few months in China last year, so he is already used to the climate and atmosphere which will also help him adjust to his new team.
What is the Complete 2022 LPL FPX Roster?
As mentioned, many new players had to join the squad. Gori is going to be the only Korean on the team, everyone else is native Chinese. This is the complete 2022 FPX roster:
- Top Lane: Ping "xiaolaohu" Xiao-Hu
- Jungle: Yang "Beichuan" Ling
- Mid Lane: Kim "Gori" Tae-woo
- Bot Lane: Lin "LWX" Wei-Xiang
- Support: Fu "Hang" Ming-Hang/Dang "Lele" Bo-Lin
What do you guys think? Will they be able to compete with the BiliBili superteam of Uzi and the 2021 World Champions?
